Who is 'Painting Vibrant Watercolour Coastlines' aimed at?
The course is aimed at beginning watercolour artists and those who want to practice and consolidate the fundamentals. If you're new to watercolours, you'll learn essential skills which you can then apply to paint anything! If you've been painting with watercolour for a while but continue to be frustrated by muddy colours, blooms and back runs, streaky washes or paints that are too thick or too wishy-washy, then you'll also find the content of this course valuable.
What will I learn from the course?
The course contains four modules which will guide you through the essential skills for painting watercolour coasts and how to apply them. 'Trees' includes colour mixing and value, plus techniques for drawing and painting trees. 'Seas' includes laying flat and gradated washes, plus ways to paint the different moods of the sea. 'Land and Sky' includes wet-in-wet painting, glazing and methods to create texture for rocks, sand, wood and grass. 'Coastlines' covers composition, creating a focal point and using colour, value and movement in your art.
How is the course taught?
Each module contains video demonstrations and downloadable PDF notes to explain key skills. Bite-sized videos show you the essentials for each technique, and include ideas for practicing them by making mini paintings (no boring drills here)! Longer demonstrations show you how to apply the skills you're learning to create your own works of art. You can paint along with Andrea, or apply the skills you've learned to paint from your own photos.
Will I learn to paint like Andrea?
You'll learn to paint like YOU (which is even better)! Andrea included clear demonstrations of her 'white lines' technique for you to try, and also included looser techniques for you to experiment with. You are welcome to paint along with Andrea, and as you gain confidence you can develop the techniques that you enjoy the most!
Are there live lessons? Will this fit around my work schedule?
'Painting Vibrant Watercolour Coastlines' is pre-recorded so there are no live lessons. You can access the material whenever suits you!
How long does 'Painting Vibrant Watercolour Coastlines' take?
The course is self-directed for you to work through at your own pace. Andrea recommended spending at least a week on each module. Each module includes 30 - 45 minutes of video material. Most videos are 3 - 5 minutes long, with a few extended 20 minute demonstrations.
